Itinerary

Arrival in Ashgabat by morning flight. Ashgabat is the capital and largest city of Turkmenistan even though it is relatively young city. In 2013 the Guinness Book of Records named Ashgabat “white marbled city” – here you can see the biggest number of structures in the world made out of the white marble.Transfer to the hotel . Free time. After breakfast you will visit the “Alem” Ferris wheel, panoramic tour to the “Bag Koshgi” (wedding palace) Independence Monument. Lunch at the local restaurant. After lunch drive to Kow-Ata underground lake . The Turkmen name Kow-Ata means Father of caves. At first glance, this underground area appears like a magnificent auditorium: the overall length of the cave is 230 m, its height reaches 20 m, and its width is at some points 57 m. The bottom of the cave is covered with lumps of dissolved limestone (stalagmites), and its warm and gushing water is clear and emerald colored. The water has a constant temperature of 33-37°C. (You should swim in a lake). Return to hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant. Night at the hotel.

Early breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Ashgabat airport, first morning flight to Mary at 06:30-07:10. Upon arrival excursion to Ancient Merw – Merw, located at the former banks of the Murghab River, was the most important Silk Road hub in the region, and particularly thriving as regional capital under Seljuk governor Sanjar. Merw is the collective name of five urban centers that existed under various different names in different periods from the VI c BC up to the XVIII c AD. Returning to Mary, visiting History Museum. Visiting Gonur Depe sight - from 1971 onwards archeological teams did discoveries that reveal the importance of this area as a possible fifth center of ancient civilization, next to Mesopotamia, Egypt, India and China. Afterwards transfer to Mary airport, flight for Ashgabat at 20:15-20:55, arrival and transfer to your hotel. Overnight is at the hotel.

In the morning breakfast. After breakfast drive to Ruhy Mosque ( spiritual mosque) at Kipchak was built between 2002 and 2004, and is one of the five largest mosques in the world (capacity of 20,000 people). Then visiting Nissa fortress - the Sanctuary of Parthian Kings. UNESCO declared this fortress a World Heritage Site in 2007. Nissa was one of the first capitals of the Parthians. It was founded by Arsaces I (reigned 250 BC – 211 BC) and later Nissa became the royal necropolis of the Parthian Kings. After lunch we will visiting Carpet and National museums. Dinner. Night at the hotel.

After breakfast drive to Gokdepe fortress and horse farm. Gokdepe fortress that was attacked in December 1880 by Russians under General Mikhail Skobelev. The siege of Gokdepelasted twenty-three days, after which the city was taken by storm. Gokdepe Mosque was built to commemorate the defeat and is noted for its mint-turquoise blue colored roof and white marble structure. Also you will visit Gokdepe museum that dedicated to the war. At the horse farm you can see proud of Turkmen national Akhalteke horses. Over the 30 beautiful horses, you can see at the horse farm. 5000 years ago, Turkmens began breeding Akhalteke horses. A Unique breed in the world that’s not mixed with other breeds. Return to hotel. Dinner. Night at the hotel.
